Data and storytelling excellence for big funding wins

  • Collaborated as a team of two with NPO leadership to grow and maintain pool of federal, private, and corporate donors — securing 60% of the org’s $2m budget

  • Worked closely with data professionals to deliver timely, accurate, and compelling proposals and reports to new and existing funders + improve program content

  • Won investment funding for propriety educational tech, an app which brought in the other 40% of the org’s budget.

  • Maintained federal data privacy standards in support of a 9-year, double-blind study to evaluate the program’s effectiveness among high school and university students.

  • Supported merger efforts between College Forward and College Possible in 2021, before my departure for a new role at Indeed.

Goals and purpose:

  • Fund training efforts for staff and volunteers so they could better serve a wider range of students in Central Texas

  • Provide mental health support to students experiencing racial discrimination to aid their journey to and through college

  • Educate leadership on the importance of representation

Grant for full website redesign: Fall 2019

Goals and purpose:

  • Turn College Forward’s website into an accesible portal for prospective and existing program participants

  • Become more attractive to students needing college access and persistence support in Central Texas

  • Reach a greater number of underserved students in rural areas of Central Texas not typically served by standard programs
